Aetna and Wake Med Issue

Dear Client and Friends,​

Well, this was not the way we wanted 2025 to start off but without any warning at all, Wake Med has decided to end their long term contract with Aetna without any warning (even though there are years left on the contract).  We are hoping this will resolve itself before the end of the month but it does not look positive at the moment.

IF YOU DO NOT SEE WAKEMED DOCTORS, YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHANGE YOUR PLAN. IF YOU ARE ON MEDIGAP, YOU CAN  DISREGARD THIS NOTICE.  THIS ONLY AFFECTS PEOPLE ON AETNA MEDICARE ADVANTAGE (HMO or PPO) NEEDING WAKEMED ACCESS. IF YOU GO TO DUKE, UNC or ANY OTHER HOSPITAL SYSTEM IN THE STATE OF NC, THIS DOES NOT AFFECT YOU.

If you DO see WakeMed doctors and are on any Aetna Medicare Advantage plan, we need to migrate you to the next best plan which we've already looked up for most of you.  To prevent total chaos, please do NOT call the office or send long emails to Brittani or our staff as we have to help hundreds of you within the next few weeks so we have to do this in an orderly fashion.

For those affected only (everyone else...you are set and stay healthy in 2025), please follow these steps.

1. Submit the form below so we know you have WakeMed doctors and you are one of the ones we need to migrate before the end of the month.

2. Be patient, we'll reach back out in 7-10 days to give everyone a chance to reply and for us to go through the database as we know which plans were next best for just about all of you and we'll reach out then

3. Once I reach out, just follow the instructions in a timely manner and we'll get you migrated.
